How to Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your CareRing account and all associated data directly from the app.

  1. Open the CareRing app on your Android device
  2. Go to Settings (tap the gear icon in the bottom navigation)
  3. Scroll down and tap "Delete My Account"
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted
This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account immediately removes your profile and everything inside the care circles and homes you own.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed from our servers straight away:

  1. Your profile — your name and email address. (We do not store a profile photo; the only picture the app ever shows is your Google account photo, displayed on your own device.)
  2. Every care circle and home you own, together with all data inside them: medications, dose schedules and logs, medication inventory, tasks, appointments, care notes, daily check-ins, medical conditions, allergies and emergency contacts.
  3. Your sign-in — your CareRing sign-in session is revoked.
  4. On-device data — the app's local database and your saved settings and notification preferences are wiped from your device.

What Happens to Circles You Share

If you belong to a care circle or home that someone else owns, we can't delete it — it holds other people's records too. In that case:

  1. Your membership is removed, so you immediately lose all access to it.
  2. The circle or home and everything in it stays with the remaining members.
  3. Your name is replaced with “Deleted User” in any shared activity or inventory history, so nothing that identifies you is left behind.

Deleting Only Some of Your Data

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data. Inside the app you can delete individual items at any time — a medication, task, appointment, care note, check-in, or an entire care circle you own — and you can leave any circle to give up your access to it. Deleting a shared item removes it for everyone in that circle.

Can't Access the App?

If you have uninstalled CareRing or are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us at privacy@carering.app. Please include the email address associated with your Google Sign-In so we can locate your account. We will process your request within 30 days.
